Marcus Spears and Scott Van Pelt are part of the ESPN camera crew at Arrowhead Stadium as the Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans in an AFC Divisional Round game.
Spears, a native of Baton Rouge and LSU Legend, grew up in a place that was not as used to low temperatures as other regions of the country. That explains his reaction below, right at the start of ESPN’s pregame program:
By the way, the temperature in Kansas City was initially forecast at 22 degrees. That’s not counting the wind, which makes it feel like 8 degrees. In fact, it appears that most of the US is cold thanks to the frost that is making its way across the country.
Credit to Spears, who played in his pro career with the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens, for eventually sticking it out and getting through it.
As for the game itself, the Chiefs are the favorites as they look to make their third straight AFC Championship game in an attempt to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls.
The Texans have other ideas, as a victory for C.J. Stroud and his team would lead to the franchise’s first ever conference championship game.
