Sunny and cold after a snowy morning

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The sun is already out after snow fell in the area this morning.

It’s slippery in the morning, but the sun is shining this afternoon

We wake up to snowy roads as the clipper that arrived last night makes its way to Illinois. Roads are a bit slick this morning, with most roads partially covered between Hwy 20 and I-80. So be careful on your way to work this morning. Wind chills early in the day will range from the twenties above zero in the south to the twenties below zero in the north. Despite the snow on the ground, the skies are clearing quickly this morning and we will have plenty of midday sun this morning. The high will reach the teens this afternoon. At night, it will be mostly clear with a temperature close to zero.

Dry with temperature changes

Temperatures will rise after today, reaching 20 degrees on Wednesday and 40 degrees on Thursday and Friday. Enjoy the short warm-up while it lasts because we’ll be back in our teens and 20s this weekend. After the morning snow, little precipitation is expected until early next week.
