A pressure group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria group, has raised the alarm over a plan to attack key members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The group also called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, to urgently protect them by providing them with adequate security, one of its members in Niger State, Alagi Aminu Gumbo, said.

The PDP group also called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate and summon the assistant former national secretary of the PDP, Senator Sam Anyanwa, and another member of the party over the alleged plot to attack the national secretary of the PDP and other members of the national working committee as instructed. a senior NWC member of the PDP party.

According to Gumbo, “the planning of the meeting (to attack members of the NWC PDP) took place yesterday (Tuesday) at an office in Wuye, Abuja linked to a member of the party.”
Gumbo also recalled that the PDP Press Corps had already petitioned the police over the attack on their colleague at The Sun Newspaper by the same Mr. Emma Okoronkwo.

Continuing his statement, Gambo said, “the group calls on the police and other security agencies to provide adequate protection for senior members of the NWC as listed below; National Treasurer, National Financial Secretary, National Woman Leader, Deputy National Chairman (South)’ New National Secretary, Zonal Vice Chairmen, National Legal Adviser who believes in the rule of law, the constitution of PDP and the constitution of Nigeria.

“This protection is necessary to prevent any harm or intimidation that may arise from the alleged conspiracy.

“We call on the police to take immediate action to investigate this case and ensure the safety of our national officers,” Gumbo said.

“We will not tolerate any form of violence or intimidation in our party and we expect the police to take our complaint seriously,” he added.

“We believe that our national officers have the right to carry out their duties without fear of intimidation or harm,” the statement said.
