An ATM technician died after being shot during a robbery Wednesday morning in Kings Mountain.

The Kings Mountain Police Department confirmed that there was an armed robbery on E. Kings Street. Channel 9’s Ken Lemon spotted the scene outside a pharmacy with an open ATM.

One person was killed, and witnesses told Lemon they heard at least two gunshots. One of the witnesses was working nearby and tried to help the victim, but the victim died after police arrived.

Loomis’ truck was parked near the ATM and a large duffel bag was on the ground, Lemon said.

Lemon said from the scene that it appears no money was taken during the incident.
