The Disney treasure is on its way to Florida, preparing for its maiden voyage

The 144,000 gross ton ship will have a two-week voyage with a short stop in Funchal, Portugal, which will be her first official port of call before her official Atlantic crossing.

It is scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral on November 12, 2024, where 1,555 crew members will join the ship for final preparations before her maiden voyage.

The ship will arrive shortly before joining the Magic Meets the Seas cruise program for the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is sure to make more noise.

On December 21, 2024, it is planned to meet passengers during the first 7-day round trip. Disney treasure is in the capable hands of the ship’s captain, Marco Nogar, and the crew members, who are working around the clock to complete the ship’s equipment.

Important points before the first trip

Disney Treasures Development began in January 2023 and her launch is culminating in a series of phases that were completed at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

On September 18, 2024, an adventure ship completed its river transporttraveling 20 miles down the River Ems under tugs, with fans lining the river banks to watch her progress.

This event followed Disney Treasures Launching ceremony on August 3, 2024, marking the first time the cruise ship entered the water. An hour later, the ship was joined by Captain Minnie Mouse, who decorates the bow.

After leaving Hall 6, the ship proceeded to a nearby dock to continue last minute construction work and prepare the ship to meet regulatory and Disney standards.

The event is timed to settle the village Disney Destinywhich together with Disney Adventureswill join the cruise line in November and December 2025, respectively.

Mayer Werft also recently received a completion order four additional ships for the fleet to debut between 2027 and 2031. The new ships will bring Disney Cruise Line’s fleet to 13.
