Campgrounds in Pisgah National Forest offer extended stays for people affected by Tropical Storm Helen

Naventure, in partnership with the US Forest Service, announces the launch of Helen’s Extended Stay Program at three Pisgah National Forest campgrounds: Davidson River, Powhatan Lake, and North Mills River.

This program, designed to support those affected by Tropical Storm Helen and those helping to rebuild, temporarily waives the standard 14-day camping limit, allowing guests to stay longer. Program participants will have access to all camping amenities, offering a comfortable and affordable extended stay amid the natural beauty of the Pisgah National Forest.

Program details:

  • Suitable campsites: Davidson River in Pisgah Forest, Powhatan Lake in Asheville, North Mills River in Mills River

  • Program dates: October 28, 2024 – February 28, 2025

  • Bets 2024:

    • Daily: Standard Site: $35; electrical site: $43; full hookup site: $49

    • Daily rates apply to all types of stay, regardless of duration.

The Helene Long Stay Program provides hurricane victims, volunteers and first responders with a place to stay with access to potable water, showers, flush toilets, and trash disposal. Guests can reserve their preferred pitch type (standard, electric or full hookup) and the campsite management will assign a specific pitch based on availability.
