Traffic Scotland confirms that the previous two-vehicle accident on the A9 south of Inverness is now clear

The scene of an earlier two-car crash on the A9 south of Inverness has been cleared, Traffic Scotland has confirmed.

The busy main road was restricted to the north after the crash near Daviot at around 4.40pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the scene after the accidentbut the road was never closed.

Two Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances were sent to the scene from Inverness but were stopped just over 30 minutes after their arrival.

Road Traffic Scotland also advised drivers to take care, but added that vehicles were still traveling on the restricted northbound carriageway, while the southbound lanes were free.

And shortly before 6.30pm, Road Traffic Scotland confirmed that traffic was back to normal and the incident cleared.

A spokesman said: “Following the previous collision, all lanes are (now) northbound. Traffic is good in the area tonight.”

It is not known if anyone was injured.
