Shots fired near Douglass, no injuries or arrests | News

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police are investigating a shooting a block west of Douglas Park.

Police responded to several reports of shots fired around noon today in the area of ​​Fourth Street and Tremont Street, Lt. Kurt Buckley told The News-Gazette. There were no injuries, but the shots caused damage to the structure. The police found several shell casings at the scene.

The suspects have not been identified and detained, the investigation is ongoing.

North Fourth Street was closed north of Grove Street due to the investigation and there is a heavy police presence in the area.
