Woman charged with drunk driving in New Bedford with 4 children – Boston News, Weather, Sports

NEW BEDFORD, MASS. (WHDH) – A Somerset County woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with children in the vehicle Tuesday in New Bedford, police said.

According to Massachusetts State Police, around 2:30 p.m., 34-year-old Rebecca Shing was pulled over for driving the van the wrong way on Route 140 south. Four children and another adult were in the van, which had a school bus license plate, police said.

Shing was taken into custody and charged with operating while intoxicated and four counts of endangering children while operating while intoxicated.

Troopers took Shing to the Dartmouth State Police Barracks for booking, police said.
