Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is targeting 60fps on Xbox Series X and Series S

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle aims to run “smoothly” at 60fps on both the Xbox Series X and its less powerful Series S sibling.

Talking to Windows Centralcreative director Axel Torvenius touched on the technical performance of the game.

“Maybe we’ll release even more details about the specifics, the technical details as we get closer to launch, when we see all the performance telemetry,” the developer began. “But what I can tell you is that we’re aiming for the game to run at 60fps on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and that, you know, it shouldn’t compromise the visuals or the experience product”.

Torvenius said Indiana Jones and the Great Circle team want players to feel “cohesive,” meaning the game should run “smoothly at 60” on both Xbox Series X and Series S.

In the past, the Series S console has tripped up developers. At the beginning of this year, the developer is behind Dune: The Awakening admitted that preparing a game for Microsoft’s low-power Xbox Series S will be a “challenge”. Meanwhile, Baldur’s Gate 3 famously came out a few months later on Xbox thanks to difficulties with split-screen co-op on the Series S console.

However, the owners of the S series are doing better. The Stalker 2 team recently stated that they hope so provide a performance mode of 60 frames per second at some point for its upcoming release on the Series S console. While nothing has been promised at this point, developer GSC said, “We think it’s possible.”

To learn more about Indy, our Ian recently started working with Great Circle.

“I think it’s going to be something really special and I can’t wait to play more. This should be as great a love letter to Indiana Jones as Rogue City was to Robocop and anyone who considers themselves a fan. film trilogy (there were definitely only three movies, I don’t know what you’re talking about) should definitely have this on their radar,” he wrote in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle preview from Eurogamer.
