A girl (9) died as a result of a collision with Tembisa

The girl was pronounced dead at the scene of a head-on collision involving two cars on Andrew Mafeto Street in Tembisa on Wednesday.

A woman was driving with her two daughters when they got into an accident.

A nine-year-old boy died at the scene, and a 13-year-old boy was injured.

EMPD spokesman Thabiso Makgato said they are also investigating reckless and negligent driving.

“Allegedly, a 29-year-old driver, presumably a football player, fled the scene after a collision with a car”

“When the Ekurhuleni Metro Police arrived at the scene, we found four bottles of hard liquor called Don Julio, a powder we suspect could be cocaine, and edible herbs were also found in his car.

“We cannot confirm the identity of the footballer until a proper investigation has been carried out.”
