Clementi HDB murder: Accused attacker’s family hires lawyers for him

SINGAPORE: A man accused of murdering a 41-year-old man hired a team of lawyers in an apartment building in Clement.

To Chee Hong, who is facing capital charges over the murder of Mr Hoo Chin Wah Vinson on October 21 at Unit 311B, 4 Clementi Avenue, made a brief court appearance on Wednesday (October 30).

Lawyers Joseph Tan of Invictus Law, Corey Wong, Devlin Mohyong and Silas Siew told the court that Toh’s family had recently engaged them to defend him.

The prosecutor’s office said the investigation was complete and requested that Toh be remanded in custody for a psychiatric evaluation to see if he suffers from any mental abnormality.

The defense did not object.

The case was postponed to November 20 for further consideration.

This development takes place after two days after the police returned To to the scene of the alleged crime on Monday morning.
