Vasan Bala praises Alia Bhatt, says filmmakers will be 'spoilt' after working with her

Vasan Bala and Alia Bhatt recently collaborated for the film ‘Jigra’. Even though the action film was their first film together, Vasan says that after working with the actress, the filmmakers are likely to take a hit when they make their next film. In a recent interview, Vasan talked about how Alia is a star without baggage who understands what the director needs in the frame without even telling her about it.
In a recent conversation with Mashable India, director Vasan Bala showed a picture of him with Alia Bhatt from the sets of Jigra. The photo captures a candid moment between the actor and the director sharing a light-hearted conversation. Recalling that day, Vasan reflected, “I remember that day clearly. Because our film was so intense, we hardly laughed on the sets and I was quiet in my director’s zone. Usually the sets are funny, but this film lacked humor, so the environment on the set was quiet, serious. We had a lighter day today and just chatted and laughed.”
Bala praised Alia, saying that any director he admires should have the opportunity to work with her. He joked that after working with her, directors would be spoiled and most likely face problems in their next projects. He explained that Alia does not need an entourage and is always ready. In fact, sometimes a simple gesture from him is enough for her to intuitively understand what exactly is needed in the scene.
Jigra became the center of controversy when Vasan Bala’s statement hit the headlines. In an interview with Tried and Refused Productions, Vasan shared his thoughts, “I wrote a very kachha pakka, stream of consciousness email…sent it to Karan and 6-7 hours later he called and said I had already sent it Alia and I were very unhappy about it.” The director added that he was unhappy that he didn’t get a chance to correct mistakes in his script before sending it to the star: “I thought I at least spell-checked, grammar-checked, hygiene-checked, wrote something. very good hero… This email was sent and I asked Karan, “Why did you do this?” He said, ‘No, that’s how it works,’ and then he said we’ll meet in a couple of days.”
Besides, Karan JoharThe gesture sparked backlash, prompting him and Vasan Balu to issue statements on social media to clear up the misunderstanding.
