Lee Min Ho talks about the DANGEROUS car accident that kept him in the hospital for a year; recalls being “jealous” of Jung Il-woo

Lee Min Ho is currently gearing up for his television comeback with the space romance drama When the Stars Gossip. On the eve of the long-awaited premiere, he appeared as a guest on You Quiz on the Block, talking about many things.

During the speech, the actor recalled the time when he had to recover for almost 7 months after a terrible car accident. He talked about an incident in 2006 that happened when he was traveling to Gangwon with his close friend Jung Il Woo, who is also a famous actor.

He said that their car collided with another car, the driver of which was drunk. While driving a car in a drunken state, the perpetrator crossed the center line, causing a serious accident.

Lee Min Ho recalled that he suffered multiple serious injuries, including torn cartilage and broken femurs. Further describing the terrifying memory, the actor shared that he had to spend almost an entire year and more than seven months in the hospital to finally physically recover. “I couldn’t do anything but lie down,” he recalled of the time he had to spend in the hospital in excruciating pain, both physical and mental.

The fatal accident resulted in the death of people, all passengers and the driver of another car lost their lives. Jeong Il-woo, who was also s Lee Min Hoalso received physical injuries, he was later diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.

However, he quickly recovered and resumed his acting career, soon gaining popularity thanks to the film “High Kick”. Recalling one of the darkest pages of his life, the actor of the series “Boys Over Flowers” said that he had mixed reactions to the success of Jung Il-woo.

“I wanted to root for him and celebrate his success with all my heart, but part of me felt impatient. I also wanted to be recognized and leave my mark on society. I wondered why I couldn’t fully celebrate my friend and felt conflicted; Lee Min Ho expressed his past feelings with utmost honesty.
