Back in August, when the drama and alleged “smear campaign” was in full swing, Atlas Corrigan actor Brandon Sklenar turned to controversy with a lengthy statement on Instagram.

“Colin and the women in this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women to choose a better life for themselves. Bashing the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and demeans what this film is about. In fact, it’s the opposite,” he said.

Brandon felt it was “disheartening” to see the negativity surrounding the film when there wasn’t a single cast member who “didn’t realize the responsibility we had in making it”.

After The New York Times exposed Justin Baldoni’s alleged wrongdoing, Brandon took to Instagram again with a link to the lawsuit. Alongside the link, he posted, “For God’s sake read this,” tagging Blake Lively.

Jenny Slate as Alyssa

Justin Baldoni

Comedian and actress Jenny Slate, who plays Alice in the controversial film, made a sweeping statement about Blake ahead of the film’s release, going so far as to say she fell “deeply” in love with her.

“I fell deeply in love with her,” Slate told Entertainment Tonight. “Obviously, I’ve admired Blake for so long. … (She is) a very reliable person who is also willing to share. We talked for a long time. I never expected to have the offset experience I had. I really wanted to work with Blake, but to really find a friend and someone who is so capable in so many ways — like a real winner… I’m just so grateful for this sweet person.”

Following the news earlier this week, Jenny said TODAY she clearly supports Blake Lively, whom she described as a loyal friend and “trusted source.”

“As a colleague and friend of Blake Lively, I offer my support as she takes action against those who reportedly planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” she shared in a statement. “Blake is a leader, a loyal friend and a reliable source of emotional support for me and the many who know and love her.”

Hasan Minhaj is Marshall

During the film’s initial drama over the summer, Hassan Minhaj remained tight-lipped about the details, saying he only had good impressions from the set.

“I can’t speak for other people’s experiences, but everyone was very professional and cool with me,” he told Esquire in September. “It’s been great and everyone has been great and it’s just as disappointing to me because I’m like, ‘What happened? Wait, what’s going on?”

Hassan has yet to issue a statement regarding Blake’s legal complaint, though he has provided one to Justin Baldoni recently deleted Vital Voices Solidarity Award just a week before the bomb was dropped.
