Uttarakhand: Authorities asked to control law and order amid tourist surge in Mussoorie | Latest news from India

Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal first introduced the winter driving system in Mussoorie and also fixed the responsibility of the officers.

According to a release, the Degradun district administration has directed the authorities to maintain law and order and ensure smooth regulation of traffic in Mussoorie during the tourist rush during Christmas, New Year and winter vacations.

“The order of the Dehradun District Administration under Section 163 (1) of the Indian Civil Defense Code to maintain law and order and smooth traffic system in view of the heavy influx of tourists during Christmas, New Year and winter tourism in Mysore,” the notification said.

DM Savin Bansal has made all departments responsible for the winter travel system in Mussoorie and said that legal action will be taken for violating the rules laid down for the travel system in Mussoorie.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the Department of Tourism to formulate a policy for the development of wedding destinations in Uttarakhand within four weeks. He also directed officials to speed up arrangements for night landing of aircraft at Pantnagar and Dehradun airports. These instructions were issued during the third meeting of the Uttarakhand State Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) at the Secretariat.

The head of the government emphasized the need to implement the plan of measures for the development of the two new cities as soon as possible. He also called for phased development of the Ganga and Sharda corridors and the Knowledge City at Dakpatar, with all projects officially launched by June 2026.

Dhami emphasized the importance of planning and implementing various development schemes according to the needs of the state for the next 25 years. He emphasized that to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, the state should work on short-term, medium-term and long-term plans.
