Luigi Mangione has pleaded not guilty to murdering a health insurance CEO

Luigi Mangione, the man accused of fatally shooting health insurance executive Brian Thompson on a Manhattan street, pleaded not guilty on Dec. 23, 2024, to 11 counts of murder as an act of terrorism and gun crimes. Mangione, 26, was escorted into Judge Gregory Carro’s chambers on the 13th floor of the New York State Criminal Courthouse in lower Manhattan with a court officer on each arm and a procession of half a dozen officers following him. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.
