Thursdaysoloist Lauren Mayberryannounced details of her first solo album: A cruel creature comes out on December 6 via Island. The Scottish musician also shared a new track “Crocodile tears.” Check out the music video for the song below; scroll down for Mayberry’s upcoming tour dates.

Mayberry led the way her first solo tour last year, and then started releasing solo tracks: “did you wake up,” “shame,” “Changing figures,” and “Something in the air”, all of which are presented on A cruel creature.

Mayberry worked on her new album with producers Greg Kerstin, Matthew Korma, Tobias Jesso Jr., Ethan Hruska and Dan McDougall. “This process has mostly been an exercise in listening to my own intuition — something I’ve really learned,” Mayberry said in a statement. “Ultimately, that’s why you start creating something – because you feel a feeling and you want to express it in some way. I think it’s been important for me to relearn that independence and recognize what I bring to whatever table I choose to sit at.”
