Century Riverside Theater is closing – hassteveclarkresignedyet

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Moviegoers in Reno will have one less movie theater to enjoy movies on the big screen. The Century Riverside Theater is set to close its doors on November 14. The theater served those living near the city center and in the northwest.

The property is being sold and the theater may or may not be part of that sale. Until a buyer is found, we won’t know if there is interest in keeping the theater open.

“I think there’s a lot of concern about what’s going on at this site. We had a tenant – we had a buyer for this property who had a big vision for this place. Unfortunately, due to certain circumstances, they are no longer pursuing this project,” said Brian McArdle, City of Reno Revitalization Manager.

McArdle says the city is watching the process closely. He adds that the property is prime real estate because it sits right along the Truckee River.
