DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – DeSoto County Sheriff’s deputies have shared footage of a pursuit of a suspicious driver.

Last Friday, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle with bullet holes. The driver was identified as Connie Sue Northrop, whose license was suspended for 10 years for DUI.

After receiving reports of a reckless vehicle being observed on SR-31, deputies conducted a traffic stop. Deputies noticed several empty wine bottles inside the vehicle and say Northup refused to comply. The video from the video recorder shows her getting into the back of the patrol car and taking off from the scene. Deputies chased her into a pasture where she eventually crashed.

Northrop was taken into custody and faces multiple charges including fleeing to Elude, DUI, aggravated battery/assault on a LEO, driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and probation violation.
