Shooting at a hotel in Florida: one person injured

AND a person was shot Tuesday morning at the Baymont Hotel in Daytona Beach, according to police.

Daytona Beach police said in a social media post shortly before 10:30 a.m. that the shooting happened at the hotel, located at 2725 W. International Speedway Blvd.

No details about the incident were released at this time, but police said the gunshot victim was taken to Halifax Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the shooting is under investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
