As FBI: International’s Fly Team faces the problems of a missing girl in a new clip episode, what happens to Wes Mitchell and the press?

The a new era FBI: International continues in TV schedule for 2024 with the next episode on October 29, which will send the Fly Team to Portugal. Unlike last week’s hostage situation, Fly Team will be on the trail of a missing American while the clock is ticking. In an exclusive clip for the episode (seen above), the team quickly encounters complications in the case, and Wes Mitchell’s commentary (Jesse Lee Soffer) makes me wonder if International is going to reveal that he has problems with the press.

The clip proves that the Fly team is unlucky when it comes to the CCTV footage, and it’s almost half a day before they get to it, so it’s not going to be easy…even if the view is absolutely gorgeous. According to CBS’ official description of the episode, titled “Nothing Sudden About It,” here’s a tease of what to expect:

When an American teenager disappears from a beach party during his high school trip to Portugal, the Fly Team leads a search that is further complicated by the conflicting opinions of the missing teen’s parents.

While fans will have to tune in for the full episode to see what kind of problems the teen’s parents will cause for the Fly Team’s investigation, at least Mitchell seems very unimpressed that the mom already called the press before agents even arrived on the scene. . It really seems like an unnecessary complication, but the fact that Mitchell pointed it out makes me rethink a moment from the end of last week’s event set in the Netherlands.

After the case was closed in episode 2, which aired on October 22nd, you can stream now with Paramount+ subscriptionthe ambassador suggested to Mitchell that they could “do a joint interview” and “really get (his) name out there”, which Mitchell effectively stopped by reminding the ambassador of what actually happened during the case. Considering he was hurt and also reminded of his adopted childhood, of course, it’s possible that he just wasn’t in the mood to politely humor the man.

It may, of course, be a coincidence that Mitchell’s reaction to the idea of his name being released last week is accompanied by his comment about the press in a clip from the next episode. Jesse Lee Soffer comments on Mitchell’s decade as a police officer didn’t report anything about the agent having issues with the press, but I can’t help but wonder that this is early in season 4. It’s always interesting to speculate when there are more questions than answers about a character, right?
