The suspect in the murder surrendered to the MNP on Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The suspect in a homicide in Nashville’s historic Edgehill neighborhood last week surrendered to authorities Monday.

Clifford Jones Jr., 35, admitted to allegedly physically assaulting James Sutton, 59, at South 5th and Russell streets.

The police department discovered nearby surveillance video of Jones visiting an auto dealership, where he was allegedly wearing the same clothes he wore during the fatal attack. Authorities also found footage of the altercation itself, which shows Sutton being pushed to the ground, where he suffered fatal injuries.

Jones is currently being held on $40,000 bond.
