Jealous lover arrested for killing woman’s husband in Rajkot | Rajkot news

Rajkot: 41-year-old laborer, Mukesh Arjan Gujaratiwas beaten to death here on Monday, allegedly by his wife’s lover.
Rajkot local crime branch DCP Zone 1 arrested Sagar Makwana (24) and his partner Sanjay Solanki (22), who live near Gondal Chokdi, for the murder.
Police said Makwana was in a relationship with Mukesh’s wife, Shobhana, and saw him as an obstacle.
Mukesh’s brother, 37-year-old Ramji Gujarati, filed a murder case at Toral police station.
In the FIR, Ramji stated that Mukesh lived in Rajkot for about two decades with his family, including two sons. He said he came to know about Mukesh’s killing on Monday from his nephew Sahil Gujarati.
Sahil said that on that day, Shobhana and Makwana arrived at their house in a rickshaw. An argument arose when Mukesh questioned Shobhana about her having a secret second residence. The situation escalated and Shobhana ran away from the house when Mukesh tried to confront her.
Mukesh, Sahil and Makwana then set out to find Shobhana by rickshaw by 6pm, hoping to get her back. Later, Mukesh and Sagar left together, leaving Sahil at home. Around seven o’clock in the evening, news came that Mukesh had been killed near Amul Circle on the 80-foot road. The relationship has been strained ever since Shobhana left Mukesh for Makwana about six weeks ago.
The investigation also revealed that Makwana has three criminal charges, including kidnapping and rape. Mukesh was also charged with burglary.
Investigators said Makwana works as a driver and his accomplice Solanki works as a manual laborer.
