Endicotts arrested after alleged drink-driving incident in Bath

BATH, NEW YORK (WET) — An Endicott couple has been arrested after an alleged domestic incident that police say involved driving under the influence with a child in the car.

Kerry Bowers, 45, and James Bowers, 58, were arrested on October 18 after police were called to a report of a domestic incident at Kwik Fill on West Morris Street in Bath at around 4.30pm that day. According to the Village of Bath Police Department, the couple was involved in a domestic dispute in a moving vehicle, entered the village and parked at a Kwik Fill.

Police say Kerry and James Bowers were drunk and a 15-year-old child was in their car at the time of the argument.

Carrie Bowers was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse (Class E Felony), DWI (Misdemeanor), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree (Class E Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A Misdemeanor).

James Bowers was charged with second degree obstruction of governmental administration (class A misdemeanor) and endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanor).

The pair’s charges were read to the CAP court and they were discharged. The child was handed over to a third person.
