‘Shame’ MSNBC accused of plugging Nazi clips into coverage of Trump rally on MSG

MSNBC is facing fierce backlash for using Nazi clips from a rally during its coverage of former President Donald Trump’s historic campaign event at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

The left-wing network included footage from a 1939 Nazi rally at the New York arena and compared it to Trump’s own rally, which packed the famous venue.

“But the jamboree that’s going on right now, you see it there on your screen in that place, is particularly frightening because in 1939, over 20,000 supporters of another fascist leader, Adolf Hitler, filled the Garden for a so-called pro-American rally. , – said the presenter, showing the footage.

The juxtaposition of the two videos was called “disgraceful” by conservatives who pointed to the diversity of the crowd.

“Yesterday’s Trump rally was packed with Americans from all walks of life, including Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and secular Jews. I saw a woman in a burqa. It was nothing like a Nazi rally. Shame on MSNBC,” posted by user X @amuse.

Others noted that Holocaust survivor Jerry Wartsky was among those present.

Critics even went so far as to accuse the network of “incitement.”

Tesla founder Elon Musk, who spoke at the rally, also called MSNBC a “scoundrel of the earth” on X.

The Democrats tried to present themselves as a party of positivity and unity.

Vice President Kamala Harris tried to emphasize this feeling during her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in August, when she called for a “new way forward.”

However, MSNBC appeared to discount the substance of the message and compared Trump supporters to Nazis.

“Trump held a revolutionary rally at Madison Square Garden in New York. The energy was unmatched and the promise of a better America was on the horizon,” wrote Sam Mita.

“The liberal media couldn’t handle it, so they ran a propaganda campaign at the same time. They compared this Trump rally to a NAZI rally in 1939,” he added.

Others noted that Holocaust survivor Jerry Wartsky was among those in attendance Sunday.

“You don’t hate the media enough,” wrote Republican pundit Colin Rugg. “Holocaust survivor Jerry Wartsky attended tonight’s rally along with other Jewish supporters of Trump.”

Wartsky, 94, endorsed Trump last week in a campaign video sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for calling the ex-president a “fascist”.

When asked why Jews should support Trump, the Auschwitz survivor said, “Because he’s a man.”
