The head of the Secret Service yells at a Republican lawmaker during a House hearing on Trump’s defense

Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Roe and Rep. Pat Fallon of Texas had a contentious exchange Thursday during a congressional hearing on Donald Trumpsecurity detail.

Since the July murder attempt for Trump, the topic was in the spotlight when former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned shortly after the close call. Senate report published in September detailing the agency’s “precautionary” failures before filming.

During a meeting of the bipartisan congressional task force on the assassination of Trump on Thursday, another topic was discussed – the memorial service for the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York. Fallon, a Republican, suggested that Trump did not receive enough protection at the event and that Roe moved other agents to other positions so that he could be more visible there.

“Who is usually closest to the President of the United States at these events?” Fallon asked. “You were the special agent in charge of the detail that day?”

“Actually, let me look into it,” Rowe replied. “Actually, Congressman, you don’t see the SAC (Special Agent in Charge) detail outside the field of view image. And on this day, we remember more than 3,000 people who died on September 11.”

“Don’t bring up 9/11 for political purposes,” Rowe yelled at him moments later during their quick conversation.

Fallon yelled back, “Don’t try to intimidate me!”

“You’re out of bounds!” Rowe fired back as task force chief Mike Kelly repeatedly struck with a hammer.

“I’m an elected member of Congress and I’m asking you a serious question,” Fallon continued.

Rowe interrupted him: “And I am a public servant who has served this nation.”
