On Sunday, October 27, local security forces detained a cemetery worker and two of his accomplices, who found five human skulls.

The arrests took place in Murikaz district at the Agege cemetery. After visiting the Isokoko police station where the suspects were held, Nigeria News Agency (NAN) confirmed that the police took swift action and vowed to intensify the crackdown.

Mr. Isiaka Amosu, an eyewitness, reported that cemetery the employee, identified as Ismaila, worked with other suspects to collect body parts in cemetery.

Local security operatives arrested the suspects after spotting a suspicious package left on a fence behind a cemetery. Intrigued by the bag, they decided to watch who would come to collect it.

“A few minutes later they noticed two men coming up to collect the bag,” he said.

Amosu said the suspects were asked to produce the bag they were holding.

He stated that the suspects confessed to receiving help from a cemetery worker who allegedly cooperated with them for profit.

According to an eyewitness, the suspect was caught about six months ago with a human head.
