In a dramatic turn of events, several opposition representatives staged a walkout during the Joint Committee meeting on the Waqf Amendment Bill on Monday. This protest was sparked by a controversial presentation by the Delhi Waqf Board.

The opposition accused the administrator of the Delhi Waqf Board of making unauthorized changes to the presentation, which was prepared without the consent of the Delhi government.

Key opposition figures including AAP’s Sanjay Singh, DMK’s Mohammed Abdullah and Congress members Nasir Hussain and Mohammed Javed walked out of the meeting. They alleged that MCD commissioner and wakf board administrator Ashwini Kumar had substantially altered the initial report without the chief minister’s approval.
