Ex-governor Gombe reacts to allegations of money-sprinkling at daughter’s wedding, details emerge

Former Governor of Gombe State and current Senator representing Gombe Central, Danjuma Goje, has strongly denied claims that money was splashed at his daughter’s wedding in Abuja.

Legit.ng reports that Fauziyya Danjuma Goje weddingwhich took place last Friday, October 25, gathered many distinguished guests.

However, the ceremony sparked public interest and controversy because of the video that was allegedly shown money sprayed during the event.

Reacting to this serious allegation in a statement by his media aide, Muhammad Adamu Yayari, made on Sunday, October 27, Goje called the shared video “an attempt to tarnish the image of the family”.

He said:

“On behalf of the esteemed Gojje family, we strongly deny this malicious allegation and consider it a blatant and calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the esteemed family and the esteemed guests who attended the ceremony.”

Goje talks about family values, compliance with the law

Goje stressed that his family strictly adheres to Nigeria’s laws that prohibit the spraying of money at public events, adding that the family remains committed to upholding its values ​​and traditions.

“Therefore, it is unthinkable and malicious for disgruntled elements to spread a viral video of dollar spraying depicting or implying the same to be part of Fauzia’s wedding celebrations,” Ghoje added.

Addressing the general public, Gojje said:

“We call on the public to disregard this baseless claim and appreciate the values ​​of decency and respect that define Senator Goje’s family. In fact, there was no place where men and women mingled during the wedding celebration.”
