Milwaukee stabbing, carjacking; Albany, Wis. Defendant

MILWAUKEEA 19-year-old man from Albany, Wisconsin (south of Madison) is accused of injuring a woman during a carjacking in August. The accused is Aaron Rogers, he is charged with the following criminal cases:

According to the criminal complaint, Milwaukee On Monday, August 12, police responded to a carjacking near Appleton and Mill Road. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with a stab wound, cut wounds on her cheek and hand, and a bruised eye.

When police spoke to the victim, she said she worked near the city center Milwaukee. When she got off work, she was heading to W. Wisconsin Avenue when she saw “a suspect walking down the sidewalk.” She let him pass, but after a few minutes the man “came to the driver’s window and asked for a ride. (The victim) advised that the suspect wanted to go ‘downtown,’ and (the victim) stated that she agreed to give the suspect a ride,” the complaint states. Later, the complaint states, “the suspect said something and then stabbed (the victim) around the neck and grabbed the steering wheel. (The victim) reported that the suspect then said, “Just give me the car” and “You’re not going to die, just give me your car.’

The victim said the knife fell and she “grabbed the blade with her left hand to try to keep it away from the suspect,” the complaint states. A struggle ensued in the vehicle until the victim “stopped the fight and told the suspect he could take the car and (the victim) was allowed to exit,” the complaint states.

The victim told police she believed “the suspect may have said the name ‘Aaron’ and that he had a ‘stoner’ type voice and was very monotone,” the complaint states. She later identified the subject in a photograph taken by the Marquette University Police Department.

Detectives seized video from the office, as well as from the residence where the Google doorbell was located. The doorbell video shows “the victim’s vehicle hitting a curb and swerving to avoid colliding with a parked car before coming to rest in the middle of the roadway on B. Appleton Avenue,” the complaint states.

Rogers was to make his first appearance in the Milwaukee County court on Wednesday, November 27.
