Autobiography series: EP Jayarajan files complaint with DGP over ‘fake media reports’ | Onmanorama News

CPM leader E. P. Jayarajan filed a complaint with the Director General of Police (DGP) on Wednesday, alleging a smear campaign against his upcoming autobiography. Jayarajan alleged that the news being circulated about the book is “false and manipulated”, describing it as part of a “wider conspiracy” to influence the Kerala polls.

Earlier in the day, DC Books, which had originally planned to publish the autobiography — Kattan Chaayayum Parippuvadayum: The Life of a Communist — announced the delay in a Facebook post, citing production issues and stating that details would be provided when the book was released. .

Jayarajan, however, denied finalizing any publishing deal, saying his manuscript was still a work in progress and not yet complete. He clarified that he was only in preliminary talks with DC Books and Mathrubhumi but had not given the publishing rights to any house. “Why should I release a book on election day and risk damaging my party? Today is the first time I’ve seen the cover image circulating online,” he noted.

The autobiography is said to be critical of Pinarayi’s second government, with Jayarajan calling for introspection within the party, expressing disappointment at his removal as LDF chief without a proper hearing. The allegations also suggest that the book mentions a meeting he had with Prakash Javadekar before the Lok Sabha elections, a discussion that is now under investigation.

The book is also said to contain Jayarajan’s concerns about the selection of candidates, including Dr P. Sarina in Palakkad, which he felt could adversely affect the LDF.
