(Society) Seoul Immigration Office Introduces Innovative Civil Grievance Plan for New Immigration Policy

The Seoul Immigration Service announced today (the 4th) that it will launch an “innovative civil petition plan” to implement a new immigration policy to prepare for an era of 3 million foreigners.

Central to the innovative Civil Complaints Plan is the creation of a ‘civil complaints service’ that will operate on the day of receipt, as well as expanding the application window and targets for excellent talent flowing into the new immigration policy.

The Seoul Immigration Office also explained that it plans to greatly improve the convenience of filing civil complaints by bringing in civil complaint consultation experts and relocating reception desks to prevent errors in civil complaint information.

In addition, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that in the near future they will develop measures to unify standards regarding the period of residence permit and increase the uniformity of work and predictability of civil claimants, as well as the consideration of civil complaints, such as the intensive resolution of issues of foreign students working at certain times.

Mr. Jae-yeol, head of the Seoul Immigration Office, emphasized that the innovation plan is the beginning of a measure to support the promotion of the new immigration policy, and that we will continue to make every effort to develop a policy that will allow citizen petitions to experience change.
