Bruno Fernandes shares details of his chat with Erik ten Hoeg following Man United sacking

Manchester United’s first game in the Premier League after the departure of Erik ten Heg ended with a score of 1:1 draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was in the dugout as a security guard while they await the arrival of new boss Ruben Amorim.

In the second half, Fernandes opened the scoring with a penalty after Robert Sanchez fouled Rasmus Hoylund.

The lead was short-lived when Moises Caicedo equalized to deny the caretaker manager a first league win.

Message from Fernandez to Erik ten Heg

In his post-match interview, Fernandez sent an apology to Ten Haag.

“I spoke to the manager (Ten Heg) and apologized to him if there was anything I could have done better for him. I was disappointed that he left and I tried to help him,” he said Metro Sport.

The Portugal international said he was partly responsible for the team’s poor performance.

“I didn’t score goals, we don’t score goals and I feel responsible because I usually score a lot of goals, but I always gave 100% to help. The main thing is that he realizes that,” he added.

The former Ajax boss spent his third season at Old Trafford. He led the club to two trophies, but Premier League performances were poor.

He will be replaced by Ruben Amorim after the club confirmed his appointment on Friday 1 November.

Amorim reacts to the appointment of Man United

After Sporting CP’s emphatic win on Friday night, Amorim reacted to becoming the manager of Man Unitedas TUKO.co.ke reported earlier.

The young coach shared the details of the contract negotiations with the new employers and explained why he decided on such a big step.

Guardiola congratulates Amorim

TUKO.co.ke also reported that Pep Guardiola praised Ruben Amorim after the appointment, calling him a top level coach.

Guardiola’s Manchester City have met Amorim’s side on several occasions and will meet again on Tuesday in the Champions League.
