A Nairobi family is appealing for help after their 13-year-old son went missing from school four weeks ago

Joseph Duncan Odhiambo, a pupil at Komarock South Primary School, attended remedial classes at the facility but never returned home.

The family reported the matter to the Komarok Police Station but is said to have yet to receive a response from the officers regarding Odhiambo’s whereabouts.

Talking to TUKO.co.keEdward Otieno, the boy’s father, claimed that the school once came to the rescue by hiring a tractor to dig a hole where the Grade 5 pupil allegedly fell.

However, they did not find his body, which raised doubts about the veracity of the information.

“The school hired a tractor to dig the hole where his friends said he slipped and fell, but we did not find his body.

“After taking the sick child home, the teachers said that the boys decided to take another friend out, and it was raining. So one of the boys said that he slipped and fell on the sidewalks around the estate, and that’s why they didn’t see him again,” said dad.

As a result, the distraught family asked the government to help them find their son.

The 13-year-old’s father said he dropped his son off at school, but did not find him when he returned.

According to him, the teacher said that she had sent him on an errand, and there was no need to sound the alarm.

“My son came to school for remedial lessons in September. I dropped him off and went to work, but he wasn’t at school when I got back.

“I asked the teacher who told me that one of his classmates got sick. She sent Odhiambo and another boy to escort him home. She told me not to worry because she would give it back to me,” he claimed.

However, it was already late in the evening, the teacher allegedly assured the father that she and the boy would bring him home safely.

“Time passed and when it was 9pm, the teacher told me not to worry; I called her back at 10:00 p.m., she said the same thing, added that she was with him. After some time, she stopped answering my calls,” he complained.

A college student went missing after leaving the hostel

In a separate report in TUKO.co.ke23-year-old information technology (IT) specialist A student of RTI College in South B is reported missing.

Lina Wanjira Mungai was last seen on Wednesday, September 11, when she left her college hostel but never came to class.

Attempts to contact her by phone were unsuccessful, and the circumstances of her disappearance remained unclear.
