Schuylkill Valley advances to semifinals in 2A

Schuylkill Valley defeated Lancaster Catholic 25-19, 25-23, 25-19 Thursday in the quarterfinals of the District 3 Class 2A girls volleyball tournament.

The third-seeded Panthers (18-3) will play second-seeded Delone Catholic on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the semifinals at Delone Catholic.

Paige Chase had 15 assists, 2 kills and 6 digs for the Panthers, Tara Hirshtritt had 12 assists, 7 digs and 11 kills and Mary Jones had 4 kills and 5 aces.

Also for Schuylkill Valley, Riley Keil had 3 aces, 3 aces and 5 digs, Esther Emerson had 6 digs, Julia Lassandro had 5 kills, Riley Schober had 9 digs and Cameron Chase had 4 kills.

In the other 2A quarterfinal match, fourth-seeded Littlestown defeated fifth-seeded Berks Catholic 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 15-25, 15-8.

Littlestown will play top-seeded Trinity on Tuesday in the other semifinal match.
