Hellandale Beach woman says someone found her service dog, but refuses to return beloved Yorkie – WSVN 7News | Miami news, weather, sports

HALLANDALE BEACH, FLORIDA. (WSVN) – A South Florida woman is asking for the public’s help after she says her service dog wandered away from home and ended up in the hands of someone struggling to get her back.

Speaking to 7News on Saturday afternoon, Marina Kadievska pleaded for information while holding a photo of Sierra, her beloved Yorkie.

“I just need your help because I don’t know how to find this girl who has my dog and she just doesn’t want to give her back,” she said.

Now Kadievska is desperately trying to get her service dog home.

“I’m asking people to help me find a dog because it’s not just a pet; she helps me with my disability,” she said.

Kadievska said that everything happened last Sunday, October 27. She was sitting on the porch of her home in Hellandale Beach with her beloved Yorkie.

“I went into the house to grab something and when I came out she was gone,” she said. “I start running through the streets and calling her.”

But Sierra was nowhere to be found.

“I came to another street and asked all the neighbors if they had seen her, and no one said they had,” Kadiyevska said.

When Kadievska checked her phone, she said, she saw a post that brought her one step closer to finding Sierra.

“It said ‘dog found at Hellandale Beach Blvd and US 1,'” she said.

Kadievska said she reached out, hoping for a reunion.

“Please, I’m begging you, please help me with this appointment, this is my puppy.” There is no answer,” she said.

After 24 hours, the post was deleted.

“And I can’t get to her in any way. I don’t know her name, I don’t know her phone number, her address, nothing,” Kadiyevska said.

Police told Kadievska that their hands were tied without any information about the person who originally posted the post.

Now she is heartbroken because, she says, Sierra is not just a pet, but her closest companion.

“Nine years with her and now I’m hopeless and very insecure because I can’t do anything without her,” she said, fighting back tears.

Devastated Kadiyevska appeals to the public for help.

“If you post, please return the dog. If you don’t want it back in the first place, why are you making this post?” she said.

Kadievska had one simple message.

“Please bring my dog home. I’m begging you, please, she said.

There is now a $2,500 reward for Sierra’s return. Kadievska said she was not going to press charges; she just wants to get her dog home.
