The Cincinnati Bengals are making trade deadline calls in hopes of adding a pass rusher

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are challenging other teams in hopes of adding a pass rusher before Tuesday’s trade deadline, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

“It’s not the Bengals’ style, but they have a lot of faith in this team and they intend to get back to at least the AFC Championship game.” Russini wrote. “Despite going 3-5, Cincinnati is looking for a cornerback and linebacker to get help from defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. The only threat to this Cincy defense is Trey Hendrickson on the edge.”

We have written about this possibility several times this week. It makes sense. The Bengals have an elite running back in Joe Burroughs, a star wide receiver in Ja’Marr Chase and all seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

With guys like Josh Uche getting a third-day pick, there’s no reason the Bengals can’t try to address a weakness or two ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.
