Inverness woman faces three-figure fine after admitting drink-driving

Police received an anonymous phone call about a suspected drunk driver and found the woman standing next to her car outside her home, holding her car keys.

Inverness Sheriff Court Heard Louise Borland, 39, of Leighton Drive, Inverness, was breathalyzed by the police and further tests revealed she had 62mcg of alcohol in her system, while the maximum limit is 22mcg.

Borland admitted drink driving on September 8 this year and was fined £640. She also had her license recorded with 10 penalty points.

Her barrister Patrick O’Dea told Sheriff Eilidh McDonald: “She is a first time offender and regrets her behaviour. She drank too much because of her relationship with her now ex-partner.’
