Arrive Alive Stops at Barren County High School to Educate Students About the Dangers of Drunk Driving

GLASGOW, Ky. – At Barren County High School, students are learning the dangers of drunk driving firsthand.

Arrive Alive tours across the country to various high schools and colleges to teach about the dangers of driving under the influence, while intoxicated or distracted on the phone.

Students got into a simulator car and put on headphones that made them feel like they were driving drunk.

The staff at Arrive Alive say they saw a sense of wonder in the students and hope they take away some important things from this lesson.

“A lot of shocked reactions… with a delay in our driving, depth perception, we’ve turned on tunnel vision to experience the full effect of high, drunk or distracted driving and… to let them know the consequences and so on. Not only is it bad to do, but so are the punishments that come after it,” says Shaquille Hill.

A few teachers even decided to try out the simulator, and they said it’s definitely important to drive without distractions.
