(CBS DETROIT) – Former owner of a wedding salon in Birmingham accused of cheating customers did not deny her accusations.

Nadika Ristivoevich from West Bloomfield was there indicted in September 2023 with multiple counts of theft by alteration after officials say several customers spent thousands of dollars on custom wedding dresses, merchandise and other accessories at Ristivojevic’s Birmingham Bridal store that they never received.

Ristevoyevich is accused of using money from new orders to pay for old orders. Her store suddenly closed its doors in June 2023 without receiving the goods or refunding the money.

Customers were reportedly defrauded of approximately $50,000.

“The defendant robbed these victims of tens of thousands of dollars, but the stress, anxiety and inconvenience she caused by committing these crimes goes far beyond money,” Oakland County District Attorney Karen McDonald said last September.

Ristivojevic said that he will not participate in the competition on Thursday. She will be sentenced on December 19.
