Liam Payne’s friend Roger Nores has sued the late singer’s father Jeff

Liam Payne’s father Jeff is in trouble.

Jeff Payne is facing a defamation lawsuit from Roger Nores, a friend of the late musician.

The lawsuit, filed in Florida on Jan. 15, alleges that Jeff made false statements under oath that significantly harmed Nores, resulting in damages exceeding $10 million.

Complaint received in PEOPLEclaims that Jeff’s statements misrepresented Nores’ relationship with Liam and contained “material omissions” and information that was not based on personal knowledge.

The 263-page complaint also alleges that Jeff’s statements to Argentine officials, which were made available in Florida, caused Nores significant reputational damage in the region.
