LG poll: Cross River government declares Thursday and Friday as holidays

The Cross River Government has declared Thursday and Friday public holidays to enable voters in the state to participate fully in the council elections slated for Saturday, November 1.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Nsa Gill, made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Calabar.

Gill said the decision was to give ample opportunity to those who have to travel outside Calabar to different parts of the state to perform their civic duties.

Therefore, he called on residents, especially voters, to take advantage of the two-day vacation to participate in the election process and make their voices heard.
