Los Angeles goes wild as the city celebrates the Dodgers’ World Series victory

Los Angeles was ready to party Wednesday night.

After the Dodgers won their second World Series in five years with a a thrilling 7-6 win over the Yankees in Game 5 on the east coast, the city on the other side of the country went crazy with fireworks and fans taking to the streets.

The Fox broadcast showed at least one closed part of Los Angeles shooting off fireworks in the middle of the street, a scene that appeared to be played out in different parts of the city, according to live video and photos.

police, in videos shared on social networkswere seen wearing riot gear in parts of the city as fans took to the streets.

During some raucous scenes in Los Angeles, excited fans started chanting, “F–k New York, f–k New York!”

In the Reuters photo, one city bus was painted with paint.

The Los Angeles Police Department ordered several intersections in the city to be cleared, including one directly near Dodger Stadium.

“An order has been issued to disperse Sunset and Vin Scully for unlawful assembly. Leave the area immediately and obey all orders from the officers,” the Los Angeles Police Department wrote on X.

Fans at Douglas Street and Sunset Boulevard in at least one video on social media, waving Dodgers flags and honking horns.

This comes after the Los Angeles Police Department earlier issued a tactical alert, the local Fox affiliate reported.

It is not known whether they were arrested.

Things were a little quieter at Crypto.com Arena, where Kings fans watched the game against the Los Angeles Golden Knights as the finals were shown on the jumbotron.

Randy Newman’s “I Love LA” blared from the arena’s sound system, and the fans soaked in the moment.

This is reported by the Los Angeles Times some fans in Los Angeles visited a little Tokyo near the Shohei Ohtani mural.

Outside Yankee Stadium, the stage was also filled with Dodgers fans dancing near the intersection of River Avenue and 161st Street.

Vice President Kamala Harris, an Oakland native and former U.S. senator from California, congratulated the Dodgers.

“Congratulations to the 2024 World Series Champions Los Angeles. @Dodgers! Your dominant performance this season has brought joy to millions of fans around the world, including @SecondGentleman”, she wrote on X.

Douglas Emhoff, the second gentleman, admitted to feeling giddy as a Dodgers fan.

“Couldn’t be prouder to be a @Dodgers fan. Congratulations on the World Series championship!” he wrote on X.
