Warmer days are ahead by Friday before an arctic blast arrives

Forecast for today:
Light northwest wind 5 to 15 mph will be in southern Colorado overnight. Temperatures will be cold, dropping into the single digits and teenagers. Mostly clear skies are expected.

Colorado Springs Forecast: Low: 9; High: 41;
On Wednesday, temperatures will start very cold, but warm up to a more comfortable 40 degrees. The maximum temperature will be about 5 degrees below average. Skies will be sunny, with a northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Pueblo Forecast: Low: 10; High: 44;
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a light west west wind 2 to 8 mph. It will be very cold in the morning and more comfortable in the afternoon, but still about 5 degrees below average.

Canon City Forecast: Low: 14; High: 45;
On Wednesday, it will be sunny, the wind will be north-west 5-10 m/h, gusts up to 15 m/h. The day starts out cold, but gets more comfortable in the mid 40s during the day.

Woodland Park Forecast: Low: 3; High: 35;
Wednesday will be sunny and cool with winds 5-10 mph, mostly sunny.

Tri-Lakes Forecast: Low: 7; High: 39;
Mostly sunny Wednesday, with a northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. The temperature will be very low at first, and will rise above zero during the day.

Plain forecast: Low: teenagers; High: the 40s;
In the plains, the mornings will be cold, and the afternoon will be more comfortable, the temperature will rise to the mid-40s. It will be a sunny Wednesday with light wind.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: Low: 10/11; High: 42/44;
On Wednesday it will be sunny, light wind. The temperature will eventually rise to 40 degrees, and you will feel more comfortable than in the last couple of days.

Mountain Forecast: Low: single-digit numbers; High: 30-40 years;
On Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny in the mountain valleys. Highs will be in the mid 30s to lows40s.

Advanced forecast forecast:
Thursday will be the warmest day this week with temperatures in the 40s to 50s and sunny. Friday will be mostly a nice day with highs in the 30s and 50s across the region.

But then on Friday night, a cold front will move across southern Colorado, bringing cold air and snow. Snow will continue to fall in southern Colorado on Saturday. Cold temperatures are set in the region this weekend with highs in the low 20s and lows below zero.
