Surveillance video shows man stabbed near Fort Lauderdale bus station

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News Thursday shows the moments leading up to a stabbing outside a downtown Fort Lauderdale bus station early Wednesday morning.

Surveillance video taken by a nearby business shows the two men talking calmly near First Northwest Avenue and Broward Boulevard, according to authorities.

A few minutes later, a man in a red jacket can be seen chasing another man and then lunging at him. The victim falls to the ground, and the perpetrator fled the scene.

Fort Lauderdale police said officers arrived at the bus station just after 6 a.m. and found a man with at least one stab wound.

They confirmed that the victim was taken to the nearest hospital, where he is being treated.

Fort Lauderdale police said the suspect remains at large and detectives will continue to review surveillance footage as part of their investigation.

Authorities have not released any information about the victim’s age or identity.
