1 man and 3 teenagers charged in 2024 Price Street murder

ROCKFORD, IL (WIFR) – Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and Gang Unit are investigating a homicide that occurred in April 2024 and name four suspects.

Marcus McGee, 20, of Chicago, along with a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds, are charged with first-degree murder.

Police say the juvenile suspects were arrested on separate charges in May 2024. McGee was arrested on January 2 in Chicago with the help of US Marshals.

Immediately after 14:00 on April 29, police responded to the 1900 block of Price Street for reports of multiple shots fired.

According to the police, the 21-year-old Le’Trevion Starnes had multiple gunshot wounds when they arrived and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

McGee is expected in court on January 22.
