A savvy businessman has been slammed online after he revealed he was making $400 a day at a fake restaurant on a popular food delivery app.

A man who posted anonymously on Reddit reveled in his success by serving overpriced microwave meals to unsuspecting diners.

He explained that he registered the company, bought takeout boxes from Amazon and created several social media accounts for his “restaurant”.

He then signed up for several delivery programs and was soon able to quit his day job.

“I resell microwavable meals … I add things to some meals to make them look better, like cheese,” he said.

“Should I feel bad? I feel proud to be fair,” he added.

He added that he is indeed working legally with all the relevant insurances and certificates.

He does not have to work from the commercial kitchen where he lives, but the hygiene inspector can come at any time.

“I’ll pass without a problem,” he insisted.

Some were amazed by the man’s genius.

“In my neighborhood, someone does that, but they don’t even cook. They are called “urban snacks” and they only sell junk food; chips, pop, cookies, candies and ice cream. Sounds brilliant if you ask me,” said one man.

“I love it, you don’t leave the house and just add your slice when you need dinner. So little effort!” laughed another.

Other people were less than impressed.

“I think it’s a bit immoral,” one person said.

“This just adds to my concerns about the restaurant,” said another.

A third said: “Some moron microwaves your dinner with his hand down his pants and laughs at how clever he is. Is this really the guy you want to give your money and trust with food safety? Some people here act as if this man also invented the wheel, which is even sadder.”

Some claimed to have recognized the “scam”.

“I think I must have ordered so much f**king delivery from you,” one man said in disgust.

And others showed that it “also happens in regular restaurants.”

“I’ve worked in many kitchens where dishes like lasagna or moussaka are reheated per serving from a frozen plate,” said one woman.

“I ordered Cornish pasta at a small restaurant, paid $7-$8 for it, and a minute later I heard them punching the numbers in the microwave. It was very disappointing,” added another.

“(I) used to work in a Sainsbury’s cafe, people were surprised to learn that the food there was just frozen ready meals that were cooked in batches and kept in the hot cupboard for whatever time. They could get the same thing for a quarter of the price just by buying it off the shelf,” chimed in a third.

A businessman gave people advice on how to open their own microwave restaurant with delivery services.

“Make sure you taste everything yourself, determine which brands taste best and what else you can add to your menu,” he said.

“If you don’t own a house or an apartment, look at this legislation. I think the landlord should give you a business license, he added.

“So far only two people have complained and I have refunded them. They didn’t even say it tasted like frozen food, they just weren’t that thrilled with the taste. It’s easy to pay someone back when you don’t have employees to pay, rent to pay, or equipment to buy.”

Other people expressed their distaste for “fake” restaurants on delivery apps, but criticized restaurants with different names and listings.

“I can’t believe this is still allowed – all three of them are the same bad pizzerias,” one man fumed on Reddit after sharing a picture of the three ads.

One driver said they got a Philly cheesesteak at an “Italian restaurant” and grilled food at an “American” restaurant that actually came from the same mall kitchen.

“I know this pizzeria around the corner that literally has 30 different names with delivery companies, from pizza, burger, wings, pasta, sandwich, etc. Yeah, the food sucks,” said another.
