A young man has been booked for creating a ruckus in the Shanivar Pet police station

A police constable attached to Chowki lodged a complaint against the accused Atharva Joshi, 22, a resident of Narayan Pet.

Vishrambaug police have registered a case against a 22-year-old youth for causing ruckus in Shanivar Peth police shacks and abusing policemen after he was detained and ordered to take a breathalyzer test on the night of January 1.

A police constable attached to Chowki lodged a complaint against the accused Atharva Joshi, 22, a resident of Narayan Pet.

According to police, Joshi was riding his two-wheeler at full speed and crashed into another two-wheeler driven by a woman near the Omkareshwar temple.

On her complaint, Joshi was detained and taken to Chowki. He was asked to take a drink and drive test, but he refused and instead insulted and blamed the police. He even threatened police officers who were inside, the statement said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Supriya Pandharkar is investigating the case.

The police applied Sections 132, 281, 324 (4), 351 (2) and 352 of the Bharati Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against the accused. So far, no one has been detained.
