Tori Lanez accuses Megan Thee Stallion of gunning the justice system in TRO response

Lanez’s complaint cites California Code of Civil Procedure S. 527.8, which “prohibits courts from issuing injunctions that restrict constitutionally protected speech. The law provides an injunction.”

The complaint further details: “Instead of rebutting the comment or discussing the issues raised by the Defendant’s comments so that people can make up their own minds, the Plaintiff has succumbed to the current trend of using the legal system to try to overturn those opinions she disagrees with.”

On Friday, Megan Marie Henderson’s attorney said in a statement to PEOPLE, “It is delusional that a felon convicted of a violent crime for shooting a victim and then stalking her further would even challenge a request for a protective order, and we believe . the court will act to protect the victim.”

Earlier this month Megan requested a temporary restraining order against Lanezclaiming that Lanes is stalking her from jail via social media and third parties, using the name of blogger Milagro Gramz (whose real name is Milagro Elizabeth Cooper).

Megan’s request alleges that Lanez recruited Cooper to “intimidate, harass and further harass” her.

“Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms. Peet, Mr. Peterson continues to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization,” the request stated. The statement said the “continued harassment” had caused Meghan “extreme emotional distress and reputational damage”.

“Mr. Peterson is fully aware of the impact of the psychological warfare he has waged against Ms. Peet, yet he continues to deputize his supporters to attack Ms. Peet’s character and integrity,” Megan alleged.

She is earlier filed suit against Cooper in October for alleged harassment and “spreading falsehoods” on his behalf regarding She and Lanes participated in the 2020 filming.

In 2022 Lanez was convicted three felony counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and grossly negligent use of a firearm after shooting Megan in the legs during the 2020 incident. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023, serving time at Tehachapi State Prison in California.

Lanez filed an appeal in February 2024.

Due to these circumstances, a temporary ban is unnecessary, Lanez claims. “He has no firearms and cannot leave his current residence. Therefore, the alleged incident (which occurred 4.5 years ago) no longer constitutes any form of current or future threat to the individual seeking protection,” Lanez’s complaint states.

“There was no direct contact” from Lanez to Megan. Lanez is expected to appear in court on Jan. 9 for a temporary restraining order hearing.
